I tried my Best to imitate the style, but for a first attempt i think its alright.
Sorry for everyone i owe requests, i know i keep procrastinating and get sidetracked easily but i'll try to do them ASAP
Note to everyone: I won't be doing requests in this style as this took a lot longer than I thought and switching between Photoshop and SAI is a pain.

EDIT: For anyone wanting to draw their own OC in the Fighting is Magic style The font Used is called YukariMobile, I'll Post the Background and the font texture if anyone asks for it. For the paint splats, Use photoshop (if you have it) and download a Splatter Brush pack, If you don't have photoshop then google until you find some you like (Or make your own and scan them in if you'd like)

I'm not really asking about shading in general (like light sources and all that jazz), but like the blending between two tones. Thanks if you can get back to me!
(the applejack video you sent me a while ago was made private, so I couldn't figure out from there)
If you want it like the "rough shading" Draw stripes of color to smooth the blending a little like this [link] then select a small brush and go over the lines to make them all sketchy and stuff like that
Not sure if this will help you but I'm not really the best at describing how to do things
